Making a Difference in Our Jacksonville Community

The JAX Chamber Community Outreach position was created in 2016 to partner with businesses and other organizations to make a difference in our community. Highlights from 2020 include the following initiatives.

2025 JAX Chamber National Civics Bee

The JAX Chamber National Civics Bee is an event organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Approximately 100 local middle school students will participate in an initial essay competition and local Judges will then choose 20 students to compete in a live quiz event to test their knowledge of civics. Winners will receive special recognition as well as prizes.

 

Food Donations

In partnership with Florida Blue and The Southern Group, JAXChamber Foundation helped provide more than 220 Thanksgiving meals for families in need. The assistance was coordinated through the Sulzbacher Center and FOSCI Jacksonville.

Masks4Jax

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Masks4Jax was formed to distribute masks and help stop the spread of the virus. The goal was set to get 350,000 masks in the community. With partnerships between the City of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Jaguars, TheCommunity Foundation for Northeast Florida, local manufacturers, donors and businesses, 354,355 masks were distributed in our community.

Vaccination Events

As community and business leaders pushed to get moreJacksonville residents vaccinated, the Chamber Foundation partnered with Agape Family Health, the JacksonvilleTransportation Authority and the First Coast LeadershipFoundation on free pop-up vaccination sites. Agape administered the vaccinations on JTA buses outfitted as mobile vaccination sites.16 vaccination events were held across Jacksonville and theChamber Foundation also connected several member businesses to hold vaccination events on their campuses.
