Congratulations to the Duval County Public Schools for achieving an 80 percent graduation rate.
The progress at our local schools has been impressive, with graduation rates steadily improving from 2012′s rate of 67 percent.
It hasn’t been an easy road.
Improvement in a school district with 125,000 students cannot be made overnight, and the gradual increases every year – 67 to 72 to 74 to 76 to 78 and now to nearly 81 – have resulted from reforms put into place over the last several years.
